What "Equity Financing" Means for Your Film
Equity financing means an investor takes an ownership stake in your film instead of handing you a grant or a loan. A loan expects repayment, usually with interest. Equity financing gives up a slice of future profits, and in return, you get the capital to make the movie.
The Greenlight List pairs your financing with guaranteed distribution through Level 33 Entertainment. That’s rare in the broader film financing landscape. This sets the prize apart in the independent film market, as slate financing deals often leave distribution as a separate thing to deal with.
A grant, a Kickstarter or Seed&Spark campaign, or an angel investor can fund your film. The Greenlight List takes a step higher by connecting filmmakers with active investors and locking in distribution in the same deal.

2. The Top 1% of submissions will be read and evaluated by our professional industry judges.
3. From these semi-finalists, our judges will determine the Top 10 finalists.
4. After diligent review, one writer will be awarded the Grand Prize: $100,000* in Equity Financing + Guaranteed Distribution by Level 33 Entertainment!
