The Greenlight List Contest Rules

Official Contest Rules

Sponsor. The Greenlight List (Contest) is sponsored by Greenlight Coverage (Sponsor).
Eligibility. This Contest is open to legal residents of Canada and those who reside in countries other than Canada are welcome to enter the contest, however, entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law. All contest participants must be at least 18 years of age or older. Employees of the Sponsor, its parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, departments or agencies, franchisees, suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies, contest administrators, and any other parties engaged in the development, production or distribution of Contest materials are not permitted to participate. By participating in this Contest, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bound by, these Contest Rules. Entrants who do not comply with any of the Contest Rules are subject to disqualification by the Sponsor, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Submission Format. Scripts must be in text/native pdf, no image pdf, 80-150 pages feature film screenplay.
Original Works. Scripts must be the original work of the author(s), and on the date of submission the work must be wholly owned and controlled by the author(s). If a screenplay has been sold, is currently under option, or is in any other way encumbered by a third party on the date of submission, the Script is not eligible for an award. If a Script is optioned or sold after it has been entered, it will remain eligible for an award in this year’s contest.
Adaptations. Adaptations of books, plays, or any other source material written by another author are not eligible under any circumstances. A Script that you have adapted from your own book, play, or other source material is eligible if you have retained all film and television rights to the property.
Contest Dates and Times. Contest begins on January 1st, 2026 at 12:00a.m. eastern time and ends on August 31st, 2026 at 11:59p.m. eastern time. (Contest End Date) after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries will be accepted.
How to Enter. As a registered and qualified user of the platform, you can enter by picking a Script already uploaded from your dashboard, and submitting it on the Opportunities page under the posting The Greenlight List. Once a Script is submitted; it may not be edited; the entry must be resubmitted.

For this Contest receipt of an Internet entry occurs when Sponsor’s server records the entry information. All entries must be complete and are subject to verification by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion. There is no limit on the number of entries per user.

Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed or otherwise illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, for example, but not limited to, creating multiple accounts, identities, or registrations, all in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or winning a prize. Entries that contain false or incomplete information are void. Entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, are damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of the Contest Rules are void. No correspondence will be entered except with the Finalists and Semi-finalists. Proof of transmission (for example, screenshots or captures) does not constitute proof of entry or receipt of an entry.

Judging Criteria

The top 50 scripts (Semi-Finalists), as defined by Greenlight’s overall automated rating, will be sent to human reviewers. The reviewers will receive the screenplays and assign scores. The short listed Finalists, top 10, will undergo a second round of analysis by our Greenlight Committee to decide the Winner. Decisions are final and may not be disputed. The judging criteria is as follows:

Winner. There will be one (1) winner selected by system scoring used by human reviewers.
Contest Prize.

Grand Prize

The Grand Prize consists of:

A conditional commitment of up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars (USD $100,000) in equity financing (the “Financing Commitment”) toward the production of a motion picture based on the winning screenplay; and
A conditional opportunity for distribution of the completed motion picture by Level 33 Entertainment (the “Distribution Opportunity”).

Equity Financing

The Financing Commitment:

Is not a cash prize;
Will not be paid directly to the winner;
May only be provided as an equity investment in a production entity formed for the purpose of producing the motion picture based on the winning screenplay;
Shall be applied solely toward approved production costs reflected in a mutually agreed production budget;
May not be used for personal expenses, development fees, writing fees, debt repayment, or any purpose unrelated to the physical production of the film.

Disbursement of the Financing Commitment is expressly contingent upon:

Formation of an approved production entity;
Approval of a final production budget and financing plan;
Completion of customary due diligence;
Compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including securities laws; and
Execution of definitive long-form investment and production agreements.

Distribution Opportunity

The Distribution Opportunity consists solely of the opportunity for the completed motion picture to be considered for distribution by Level 33 Entertainment.

The Distribution Opportunity:

Is not a guaranteed distribution agreement;
Does not constitute a cash award, minimum guarantee, or advance payment;
Is contingent upon the successful completion and delivery of the motion picture;
Is subject to the film meeting technical, legal, creative, and commercial delivery requirements as determined by Level 33 Entertainment in its reasonable discretion;
Is subject to the negotiation and execution of a definitive long-form distribution agreement directly between the production entity and Level 33 Entertainment.

Neither Sponsor nor Level 33 Entertainment shall have any obligation to finance or distribute the motion picture unless and until all applicable definitive agreements are fully executed.

The Financing Commitment and the Distribution Opportunity are each expressly conditioned upon the negotiation and execution of mutually agreed definitive long-form agreements.

All material terms of the equity investment and any distribution arrangement — including, without limitation, ownership structure, recoupment position, profit participation, revenue waterfall, royalties, backend compensation, distribution fees, marketing expenses, term, territory, media rights, creative approvals, delivery requirements, guild compliance, and other customary provisions — shall be subject to negotiation and documented in formal written agreements.

No royalty, profit participation, backend compensation, minimum guarantee, distribution fee, or other economic term is implied by these Official Rules.

The Prize constitutes only an opportunity to negotiate and does not create a partnership, joint venture, fiduciary relationship, or binding obligation unless and until definitive agreements are executed.

All winners assume any and all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by entering, participating in this Contest or the use or redemption of a prize. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute an alternate prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize is unavailable at the time of award.

Odds of Winning. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received before the Contest End Date.
Winner Selection and Confirmation. The Winner will be announced on December 7th, 2026 at 12:00p.m. eastern time by the Sponsor, or an employee, agent or other representative of the Sponsor. The Winner must meet all the eligibility criteria set out in these Contest Rules. If the Winner does not meet the eligibility criteria, they will be disqualified and will not receive a prize, and another entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries.

Winner will be notified within 14 business days of the contest draw and will be contacted using their contact information provided in their platform account. Up to three attempts will be made to contact the Winner. A Winner that does not or cannot accept a prize may be forfeited and a new Winner will be selected. Sponsor is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a Winner to receive notification or for the Sponsor to receive a Winner’s response.

Disputes regarding identity of entrant: If the identity of a Semi-Finalist is disputed, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the individual assigned to the email address entered at the time of entry (Authorized Account Holder). Each Semi-Finalist may be required to provide proof that they are the Authorized Account Holder associated with a selected entry.

Release and Indemnification. All Semi-Finalists agree to: (i) confirm compliance with all Contest Rules; (ii) agree to accept prizes as awarded; (iii) release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsor, its departments and agencies, parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, counsel, marketing partners, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders, successors, sponsors, partners, licensees, subsidiaries, agents, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the administration, development and execution of the Contest (Released Parties) from and against any and all manner of action, cause of action, claim or demand, loss or injury, use or misuse of a prize or any travel related thereto, and the use of entries by the Sponsor, suit, debt, covenant, contract, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach, failure of any third-party contractor or supplier used in connection with any aspect of the Contest to perform or deliver any goods or services, any act of God or any other event beyond the Released Parties’ control, any dissatisfaction of any kind by a winner with any aspect of the Contest or any prize, liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants, guests, their heirs, successors or assigns have, might have or could have suffered, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of prizes as awarded; and (iv) indemnify the Released Parties against any loss, damage or expense, including legal fees, that any of the Released Parties may suffer or incur as a result of any non-compliance by entrants with any of the Contest Rules or participation in the Contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by an entrant of a prize, and the use of entries by the Sponsor.

The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) incorrect or inaccurate entry information that may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Contest or be awarded a prize, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries that fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (iii) lost, incomplete, delayed, mutilated or misdirected entries or Winner Releases; (iv) injury or damage to entrants’ computers or to any other individual’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Contest or accepting a prize; (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, including any related travel and the use of entries by Sponsor; (vi) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third-party computer hackers or otherwise; or (vii) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner.

Other Conditions. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or amend this Contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice to entrants. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned for any reason, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest and conduct a random draw from all previously eligible entries received by the Contest End Date.
Law. The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and local laws. This Contest shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Ontario, including all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Contest rules, rights and obligations between entrants and the Sponsor, and procedural provisions, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Any dispute shall be adjudicated by the courts sitting in Toronto, Province of Ontario.
Rule Amendments. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend or modify these Contest Rules, or modify, cancel or suspend this Contest, without prior notice for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation in the event that any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupts, or threatens to corrupt, the security or proper administration of the Contest.
Intellectual Property. All intellectual property, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, images, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Sponsor. All rights reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any of the Sponsor’s intellectual property without the express written consent of the Sponsor is strictly prohibited.
